156 Achievements in 5 months

Not a stunning statistic, works out at around an achievement a day. That is what I was referring to when I wanted to check back with something yesterday.

In April I posted that I had reached the milestone of 5500 unlocked achievements. I remember the achievement popping whilst playing Minecraft. The following couple of months were a little slow and there was even a month when I can’t remember unlocking anything? But since then I have got myself back on track and I think the majority of the title number have been in the quite recent.

I have been targeting Minecraft again (finally made a cake) and that has proved to be resourceful. Also completing LEGO Ninjago helped, one of the other big poppers was Shadow of the Tomb Raider when I picked that up and finished it off.

One game I picked up having never played the series before was Hitman as it was part of Games for Gold. Working through that at the moment having played the Prologue.

The other game that I have added to my playlist is Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr. I thought I would give it a play as in the sale at the time.

To much coming out as usual, and if you’ve seen any of my earlier you know I have a target for completion of games. This is currently sliding back again, due to the number of new games I’ve started recently. So I might be losing that battle, but a few long sessions can get me back on track. Though Minecraft only has so many.

Once Gears 5 is played through, I can restore my focus to some of the other games. But I just found myself playing LEGO City Undercover earlier. Fun, must be had, and that is what matters.

Mid 2019 review

Ok, so I believe that at the start of the year I had some plans to play this and that and achieve this and that so with me not appearing on here for a few weeks you would assume that I have been furiously tapping away at the Xbox Controller and Achievements have been popping like mad.

Well, I am about half way though Shadow of the Tomb Raider, I have one more Episode to complete on Spartan Ops, I am playing my way through The Division 2 and haven’t even started Final Fantasy 7.

What I have done instead is buy some other games and play them, and then recently watch E3 too and so compile a shopping list for more.  I think that there just isn’t enough time.

I have been off on leave for a couple of weeks and I have been playing one of the current Xbox Live Games for Gold NHL 19.  Started the Be a Pro mode so baby steps development wise.

As an Xbox Insider I also signed up to try the now publicly available Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and see how it varies.  Speaking of Game Pass, still trying to get some quests there.

Earlier in the year in published the below graphic showing the percentage of Achievements unlocked.

ta stats 210119

And below is what it looks like at the moment.

Achievements

The percentage was a little better until I started playing Banjo-Kazooie for a bit of fun, but hey, that is what games are for.

I also had a play on the new Lego Speed Champions pack for Forza Horizon 4 last night and that looks rather interesting.

On the streaming front, I think that depending on what I want to achieve at the moment then I can have some fun.  Still without a couple of key ingredients but they will come.  So check out the MisguidedSumo Mixer channel and keep an eye out for videos.

I picked up Lego Ninjago the other day so that I can have a further play through, collect the last 10 achievements and add another completed game to my collection.  I also added Assassin’s Creed Origins which is one that I have looked at ever since it was released and now I just need to sit down and start playing it.

I also picked up the Handsome collection of Borderlands and pre-ordered Jedi Fallen Order.  On top of that, registered my interest in Project Scarlett.  I think the countdown has begun.

Whilst keeping an eye on all this, I have also joined as an Xbox Ambassador in the last couple of months.  I have been on Xbox live since it started and like to think of it as a community that we go to and share adventures, general fun and chat.  What I and others to not enjoy are some of the language and behaviour of “gamers” and so please ensure that if  you have any issues during games then report via the recommend methods.  Any issues then us ambassadors are here to assist.

Back again soon.

April 2019 gaming begins

I believe that a few posts back I set myself some small goals.  And to be honest I haven’t a clue if I have stuck to them or not.

All I know is that I have been progressing well with Shadow of the Tomb Raider, even managed to stream for over an hour whilst playing and so that was a good step in the direction I am aiming.

On top of playing Tomb Raider, I continue with The Division 2.  I am just starting out on this and so I haven’t got to far as yet.

As a bit of a jump back, I have begun playing Fifa 19 again and the Achievements have again been popping whilst I play some FUT.  It is always a great pick up and play game.

Another game that I have recently picked up again is Trials Fusion, I have progressed further with this and collected more medals.  An Achievement popped here too which was a pleasant bonus.

Couldn’t wait for the Games for Gold this Month, Star Wars Battlefront 2 from the Xbox Original.  What a classic, instant install and play.  So many memories.

I have also reached a new milestone on TrueAchievements, in that I have played my 300th game.  The game was Anthem as I am currently using an EA Access 10 hour trial to see how it looks.

I normally like BioWare games such as the Dragon Age and Mass Effect Series’ and this could be interesting depending on the reviews I have read.  So far it appears ok, and something that I can see me playing more than 10 hours of.

There was even a little time to catch up with Overwatch today.

Another game that I payed again today was Call of Duty Black Ops (I will finish this game), I continue my way through the campaign every now and then when it suits me.

You might of guessed by now that I can sometimes play a number of games in one day, this is not anything bad.  Sometimes, it is just a need to change the scene.  I can also very easily immerse myself into a marathon sessions.  I think that might be why I now try and break it up a little.

But these are all Achievements that I am checking off of the goal I mentioned I think on one of my earlier posts.  It is why I have searched through my list of played games looking for ones that I didn’t play for long or something.

Then as the games become backward compatible I am picking them up and playing through them, as well as playing new games so time is prioritised chaotically.

I am getting there though, a couple of games on the agenda this month(ish).  I am currently reinstalling Halo 5 and that will take a while as it is rather a large game.  Then I plan on playing a few days of Halo, never an unfortunate task.  I can get Spartan Ops from Master Chief Collection completed, then run a few achievement popping sessions on Halo 5 and clean up the month.

I’ll keep you posted.
